Touch A Truck
Saturday, September 16, 2023
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Sports Complex located at 2415 FM 3156.
Bay City, Texas –Trucks, tractors, maintenance equipment will roll into Hardeman Park on Saturday, September 16th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the fourth annual Touch-A-Truck event hosted by the Bay City Parks and Recreation Department.
Touch-A-Truck offers children the opportunity to see, explore, and learn about their favorite big trucks and heavy machinery that protect, serve, build, and maintain cities. The day is full of food, fun, and everything you DIG about trucks.
See attached flyer.
“It is a wonderful experience for children young and young at heart. They can touch everything in a safe environment, instead of wanting to do it when they are in action,” says Kelly Penewitt, Parks and Recreation Manager. “Trucks are really unique; children see them on the side of the road doing the work that they are supposed to do. They do not get to have that opportunity to get up close and personal with the trucks and equipment – this event gives them that opportunity to get up close to those trucks!”
This free community event is hosted by the Bay City Parks and Recreation Department from 10 – 2 p.m. There is a sensory-friendly hour to accommodate individuals with special needs who may be sensitive to horns, sirens and lights from 10 – 11 a.m.
Word of Caution…The trucks and vehicles on display are working machinery, so extreme caution is required when walking around trucks and vehicles or getting in or on them. An adult or guardian must always accompany children. Closed-toe shoes must be worn always in, on or around vehicles.
