Mark your calendars! The Monterey Square Business Association and Constellation Energy collaborated this year (along with many sponsors) to make this popular event come back.
Nearly 18 tons of snow will be sprayed onto the courthouse lawn at the corner of Fulton and Milam Streets. Children will be allowed into the snow area. Colored tickets will be issued when children arrive so they know when it will be their turn to play in the snow. A DJ will be playing holiday music and will announce ticket colors when it’s time for a new group of kids to play in the snow.
In addition to holiday music and snow, there will be food booths, food trucks and face painting. Performers with the Plaza Theatre will be dressed as Disney characters and will be interacting with the kids, giving parents the opportunity to take pictures. Santa will also be in the Gazebo for photos and to hear Christmas wishes.
Organizers remind parents to dress their youngsters appropriately for the snow. Even if the weather is not freezing cold, the snow is cold, so gloves and boots are definitely a good idea.
