The Wharton County Library will again be hosting the annual Posh PumpKing Party on Tuesday, October 24th, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
You can drop off your pumpkin at the Wharton County Main Library to be entered into the PumpKing contest from October 16 – 18 during normal library hours. It is not a pumpkin carving contest, but a pumpkin decorating contest. The winner of the pumpkin decorating contest will have their pumpkin crowned the PumpKing at the party!
There will also be costume contests at the party for kids ages 0-5 and 6-12. Children will also enjoy craft sessions, storytime, face decorating, and carnival games where they will win prizes and candy. Participants who peddle the bicycle fast enough can make their own smoothie (peddling the bike turns the blades of the smoothie machine). This fall celebration is open to all children of Wharton County ages 0-12 and their families, and there is no charge for any event. Decorated pumpkins may be registered at the Library from October 16th through 18th. Information on the contests is available at the Library or call (979) 532-8080.
The Posh PumpKing Party is a collaborative event sponsored by the Wharton County Library and the Prairie View A&M Cooperative Extension.
