The Kayak Fun Run is a leisurely paddle down Caney Creek that benefits the Sargent Branch Library and is for kayakers of any level of experience: from go-getters to arm-chair paddlers. The event is sponsored by Friends of the Sargent Library (FOSL), a non-profit organization. FOSL helps preserve, support, and strengthen the local community library through community events, youth summer reading programs, scholarships, and other activities.
Family and friends may come out to support kayakers at the starting point (Caney Creek RV Park 230 CR 285 (Socha Rd); end (Caney Creek Estates Boat Ramp #1 CR 298 (Caney Drive); or at the raffle drawing for kayakers (Mike Leebron Memorial Park/Lions Club, 716 CR 298 (Caney Drive).
Kayakers of any level of experience are invited to participate. However, kayakers must be 18 years of age or accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to participate. The registration form addresses required equipment and mandatory training.
